Caroline Reeve – Accredited Trichologist CiT iTEC ART
Hello, I’m Caroline,
With more than 30 years of experience working with hair, a diverse career has shown me how devastating hair loss and scalp concerns are for some people. I developed my interest in the science of hair and all that influences healthy and strong hair growth while teaching hairdressing for over 4 years. My interest led me to study Trichology with TrichoCare Education. Following intense study on the accredited iTEC trichology qualification, I was inspired to register as a certified Consultant Trichologist.
My aim as a trichological practitioner is to offer you inexpensive advice to help you understand the root cause of your hair or scalp health concern. My advice will be focused on providing your body with the effective support needed to combat disruption. Recommendations and solutions will mainly include information about suitable clinically trialed products, lifestyle changes, with suggestions for a self-managed treatment-based hair care regime, and if not carried out prior to consultation a referral for blood testing with a view to rebalancing chemistries to support optimal hair growth & identify nutritional deficiencies. However, I have a keen interest in sustainable plant-based ethical products, so I will tailor your treatment plan to include vegan or vegetarian-friendly products if requested.
My holistic approach to trichology consultation is with the intention to fully understand your personal hair loss concern or scalp disorder. I will talk you through your concern so that you can make informed choices about effective home-use treatments, to restore hair & scalp health and a general feeling of wellbeing and self-esteem.
There are numerous myths connected to the cause of hair loss and the best way to care for your hair. Certified trichologists, hair science researchers, and educators around the world are currently working together with the aim to solve the distressing hair mysteries that cause so much concern for hair loss sufferers.
My career with hair started in a salon as an apprentice, I soon became a principal stylist and later managed a salon, before starting my own travelling hair company. After several years, I moved on to coordinate the hairdressing training academy of a well-known German hair product manufacturer. Within this environment, I also carried out product testing, as well as providing advice and solutions to hair care professionals and the public on the national customer helpline.
After having my three children, I returned to work as a trainer/assessor, travelling to salons around South East UK to train, assess, invigilate exams and provide internal verification for work-based learners taking NVQ qualifications in hairdressing.
Once my children became independent, I qualified in Trichology. I gained certification in spring 2019 following an intense study on the iTech (International Therapy Education Council) Certificate in Trichology. My studies included modules on human anatomy and physiology; the immune, endocrine, cardiovascular & digestive systems + role of nutrition in Trichology – the course was linked to a pathology of blood course at the University of Bedfordshire.
Other coursework included clinical consultation practice & procedures with learning about the influence & role of multiple factors that impact on hair and scalp diseases such as stress, diet, self-managed use of supplements e.g. vitamins & minerals, prescribed medication, the chemistry of & use of hair care products, general health & wellbeing & age-related changes to the human body and how to understand the relationship between blood components and the optimal health of hair & scalp.
I ensure my consultations are in keeping with the ethical standards set by the trusted profession of trichology. I am certified with Trichocare, and a registered accredited member of the Association of Registered Trichologists ART, and Trichology Professional Development Programme.
Whatever your hair or scalp problem, I would love to hear from you. You can speak to me by appointment at a remote/virtual consultation or in a private space at my clinic which is based in Farnham Common.
